Cannabis proves efficient for relieving headaches, largest Israeli cannabis investment deal and other weekly news

🇺🇸 Latest research by Washington State University shows that cannabis really is efficient in alleviating headaches. According to the study, smoked cannabis reduces self-reported headache severity by 47.3% and migraine severity by 49.6%. Though cannabis is already widely used to reduced pain syndromes, no significant research has yet been conducted to date regarding headaches specifically. 

Regulation

🇺🇸 The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) announced cannabis mark-up and cultivation tax rate will increase starting from 1st January 2020.

🇨🇴Cannabis producer Khiron Life Sciences Corp. received authorisation from the Colombian government to produce and commercialise psychoactive (high-THC) cannabis. becoming the first in the country to legally do so. 

Investments 

🇮🇱Marking the largest cannabis investment deal in Israel, Cannbit Pharmaceuticals acquires Tikun Olam’s Israel operations for a price that could reach as high as $41.5 million, after the latter failed to receive a permit to grow cannabis commercially.
